Mother’s Day Brunch at Nogo Toko – Love, Flavor, and Respect
Mother's Day is a moment to pause and say thank you. Thank you for the warm hands that comfort. For the gaze that sees straight through you. For the quiet care that carries you through life. This Mother's Day, we want to offer a moment as special as the mother you're celebrating.
The stars of our brunch – a unique mix of Asian-inspired flavors
For our Mother's Day brunch, we're serving three main dishes that represent different sides of our modern Asian bistro kitchen:
-
Flamed rainbow trout slices with avocado in sushi style – fresh, soft, and delicately smoky. Finnish trout with Japanese elegance.
-
Slow-roasted lamb with King Oyster Mushroom in truffle and cranberry sauce – a festive dish rich in umami.
-
Thai papaya salad (som tam) – crispy, fresh, and spicy – a true burst of flavor from Thailand's vibrant food culture.
The brunch also includes fresh salads, small bites, desserts, and something sparkling – with a complimentary glass for mom, of course!
Mothers in Asia and Finland – a shared heart with different expressions
Mothers hold a highly respected role in China, Thailand, and Korea – just as they do in Finland. Each culture expresses love and gratitude in its own way.
In China, the mother is seen as a source of wisdom, the backbone of the family, and the first role model. Mother's Day is celebrated more and more widely, often with flowers and shared meals.
In Thailand, Mother's Day is held in August on Queen Sirikit's birthday. Jasmine flowers are given as a symbol of purity and love. Mothers are deeply respected – almost revered as givers of life.
In Korea, there is no separate Mother's Day, but rather Parents' Day, honoring both parents. Respect for parents is rooted in Confucian values, and love is shown through actions – such as sharing a meal.
And in Finland? A mother is a source of safety, strength, and the often unseen hero of daily life. Mother's Day is one of the most popular brunch days of the year – for good reason. Around the table, we meet for real.
Reserve your table early – seats are limited, and mom deserves the best.
Welcome to celebrate Mother's Day with us.
